Refund for cancelled or delayed flight

European Regulation 261/2004 guarantees monetary compensation to passengers in case of flight cancellation, delay of more than 3 hours or overbooking.

What you need

  • Boarding pass or booking confirmation
  • Proof of delay (screenshot, airline email)
  • IBAN for the refund

Step-by-step procedure

Check your right to a refund
You are entitled to compensation if: the flight departed from an EU airport, or arrived in the EU with an EU airline.
You have 2 years to file a claim.

Calculate the amount
€250 for flights ≤1,500 km · €400 for intra-EU flights >1,500 km · €600 for flights over 3,500 km. Delay ≥3 hours on arrival.

Send a complaint to the airline
Go to the airline's website, "Complaints" section. Send a written request with: booking number, flight date and number, extent of delay, IBAN.
The airline has 30 days to respond.

Appeal to ENAC if necessary
If you don't receive a response or it is rejected, file a claim with ENAC through the online portal.
