Who pays IMU on a primary residence?

IMU is not payable on a primary residence if it is your main home and not classified as a luxury property (cadastral categories A/1, A/8, A/9). It is payable on second homes and luxury properties.

How do you register a rental contract?

A rental contract must be registered with the Revenue Agency within 30 days of signing, via the web portal, a CAF or a branch office. The registration tax is 2% of the annual rent.

How long does the renovation bonus last?

The renovation bonus (50% IRPEF deduction) is confirmed for 2026. Works must be carried out on residential properties and expenses must be paid by bank transfer with tax details.
